The Inaugural Spirit of Paul Mc Girr Gala Banquet took place on the 23rd November 2007 in the Armagh City Hotel. This fund-raising banquet attracted over 640 guests to enjoy an evening of film about Zambia, a prize-auction and raffle as well as a fine meal and dancing. The evening was hosted by Adrian Logan of UTV fame, with a speech given by former GAA President Peter Quinn and included interviews with Tyrone Manager Mickey Harte. The guests ranged from Kiwi’s, Welsh, and English patrons as well as people from all over the island of Ireland. |  Committee Members |
Guest speaker, Peter Quinn meets committee members, Maeveen McNabb, Michael McGirr & Katrina McGirr. | The evening in particular promoted the role of the volunteer in the project, essential to the development and maintenance of the project long term. The evening raised over £40,000 for the work of the Spirit of Paul Mc Girr Trust, enabled the work begun in 2007 to be carried on long into the future. The Cormac Trust was represented by Mr & Mrs Mc Anallen who received a donation from the evenings proceedings. An enjoyable night was had by all in attendance. The Spirit of Paul McGirr committee would like to thank all those who contributed to making the event such a success. |
